norda released its new 005 model last week — a trail-geared “super shoe” loaded with revolutionary technology — and, in support of both the release and the 005 touching down at norda’s global network of stockists, the brand has released a short film titled Speed for a Lifetime to accompany the launch. One of norda’s core touchpoints is crafting incredibly durable footwear (it’s not uncommon to see customer testimonials of trail runners who’ve put well over 1,000 miles on their nordas) and Speed for a Lifetime playfully showcases the 005’s durability and performance as the video’s subject just keeps on running, and running … and running.
The 005’s key tech specs include a midsole made fully of Arnitel, a supercritical TPEE foam that usually makes up no more than 30% of a shoe’s midsole. This full Arnitel construction provides the midsole with an 80% resiliency rate, meaning the 005 offers more than double the cushioning, support and responsiveness of most “super shoe” midsoles. Other technical innovations include the retail debut of Vibram’s Megagrip Elite rubber compound on the outsole and a bespoke Bio-Dyneema upper (a norda staple) with a wider-than-usual weave pattern to allow for enhanced breathability and drainage.
