Nearly two decades after its original release, Nike’s inflatable jacket remains one of the most coveted pieces in the technical fashion space. Now, this innovative outerwear has been revived and reimagined through Nike’s ISPA (Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt) line, bringing cutting-edge design into 2025.

Originally released in 2008 under Nike’s outdoors-focused ACG line, the jacket appeared to be a standard weatherproof shell at first glance. However, its defining feature was a network of inflatable panels that, when filled with air, transformed it into an insulated puffer.

Now, Nike’s ISPA division is reviving this concept with the Adapt Sense Air Jacket as part of its Spring 2025 collection. This updated iteration retains the core inflatable technology while introducing a sleek, modular design. Equipped with its own pump, the jacket inflates a series of integrated air channels, allowing for customizable insulation. It debuts in two colorways, which include a refined black and a rich chestnut brown.

Beyond its inflatable capabilities, the Adapt Sense Air Jacket excels as a high-performance technical garment. It features a protective front face flap, zippered air vents and a fold-down construction that allows it to convert into a bag.

Launching as part of a four-piece Nike ISPA collection, the Adapt Sense Air Jacket is currently available in Asia via Nike’s website, with a global release expected later this spring.
