Nigel Sylvester Readies "Brick By Brick" New Era Collab
To accompany the drop of his Air Jordan 4 “Brick By Brick” this Friday.
After 10 long months of speculation and rumor-milling, BMX professional Nigel Sylvester’s Air Jordan 4 “Brick By Brick” is finally two days away from its official release — and joining in on the long-awaited moment is New Era, with a “Brick By Brick” 59FIFTY collection made in collaboration with the famed biker.
The fitted hat collection includes two colorways inspired by New York City’s baseball teams: a “Black” version for the Yankees and a “Brick Red” iteration for the Mets. Both models house “Brick By Brick” branding on the side and an interior tag with a quote from Sylvester reading “I built this Brick by Brick.”
The New Era “Brick By Brick” 59FIFTY collection will drop on March 14, at the same time as the “Brick by Brick” Air Jordan 4 and apparel items.
In a recent interview, Sylvester explained the significance behind the “Brick By Brick” moniker: “When you move around New York City, you see that reddish-orange brick everywhere. It’s on our homes, our institutions, our schools, our parks, our plazas. It’s everywhere. It is literally woven into the architectural and visual fabric of New York City. And me being a BMX street rider, riding outside my entire life around New York City, it has become a color and a symbol that resonates with me very deeply, and the same goes for a lot of people from this city.”
