Update: As February came to a close, CNCPTS’ Deon Point teased a new project from the brand and New Balance featuring the 1000 silhouette. We now have confirmation that not only is it a successor to the legendary 998 “C-Note” project with a new “Mile” theme based on the $1,000 USD banknote, but it is set to release in one of the previously teased colorways this week. The specific bill that this nods to is the 1890 note that sold for over $3 million USD at auction in 2014. This version of the retired note is one of two bills known to be in existence with a red seal on the front, a detail that is nodded to with the colorway’s hot pink accents at the forefoot and tongue branding. As discussed previously below, the duo has made use of the 1000’s layered upper by including various green and off-white levels. Its release also coincides with the St. Patrick’s Day festivities to come as pairs will be made available via CNCPTS on March 14, with in-store raffles taking place in the preceding days.

Original Story: CNCPTS and New Balance kicked off the year by concluding their two-part 740 campaign with the “Brut” colorway. Now, CNCPTS creative director Deion Point has teased what may be next for the longtime partners, revealing various co-branded takes on the New Balance 1000, a sneaker that the sportswear brand brought back from its archive last year.

Outfitted in various white and green color schemes, the CNCPTS x New Balance 1000 looks to be based on the $1,000 USD bill that was last printed by the United States Treasury Department in 1945 as Point nods to it in the second slide of his Instagram post. This would make it the duo’s second currency-oriented campaign as their hit 998 “C-Note” project was reissued for its 10th anniversary in 2023. While we lack any confirmation regarding which pairs may see a retail release, key details based on this single image preview include a mixed material upper and pink/red branding scattered throughout, including at the tongues that host CNCPTS branding as well.

At the time of writing, neither CNCPTS nor New Balance have confirmed that any of these colorways of the 1000 sneaker will be dropping. However, we currently expect the duo to present the campaign later this year, likely releasing it via CNCPTS and New Balance around the model’s typical $150 USD price point. Stay tuned for updates regarding the project and check out Point’s post featuring the reveal below.
