As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.
This week’s lineup is led by albums coming from Saba x No ID, Japanese Breakfast and Flying Lotus, an EP from PlaqueBoyMax and singles from Lil Durk x Jhené Aiko, Doja Cat x Jack Harlow, Che, IDK x Joey Valence x Brae, Nettspend x xaviersobased and NAV x Metro Boomin.
Saba x No ID – From The Private Collection of Saba and No ID
On Tuesday, Chicago powerhouse rap/production duo Saba and No ID proved their paired prowess with the release of their long-awaited collaborative album From The Private Collection of Saba and No ID. Loaded with features from Pivot Gang members and other collaborators, the project is both nostalgic and refreshing, offering a homage to Chicago hip-hop that feels fresh and unlike anything else out right now.
Lil Durk x Jhené Aiko – “Can’t Hide It”
Lil Durk has dropped off his first single of 2025. Entitled “Can’t Hide It,” the cut features lyrical contributions from Jhené Aiko as well as production from benny blanco. Marking his first single since “Opportunist,” “Can’t Hide It” is confirmed to appear on his imminent studio album Deep Thoughts, which drops everywhere next Friday, March 28.
Jack Harlow x Doja Cat – “Just Us”
After revealing they had a collaboration in the works earlier this week, Doja Cat and Jack Harlow have officially lifted the veil on “Just Us.” Harlow’s first collaborative venture of the new year, “Just Us” surfaces after the rapper dropped off a handful of clips from the cut’s music video on Instagram, getting fans hyped for the long-time-coming collaboration.
Japanese Breakfast – For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)
The Michelle Zauner-led Japanese Breakfast has been recording singles, EPs and albums in makeshift recording spaces for over a decade now. For the first time, the group actually hit the studio for a “an artistic statement of purpose,” entitled The Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women). Clocking in at 10 tracks even, the LP also features singles “Orlando in Love” and “Mega Circuit,” as well as a feature from Jeff Bridges.
Che – “Love (MKB)”
Following up on his Rolling Loud California performance, Che has dropped off “Love (MKB).” The rap-meets-rock offering is one that fans have been vying for since its viral snippet and arrives in the middle of the emerging Atlanta rapper’s opening run for SahBabii on his current tour.
Flying Lotus – ASH (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Flying Lotus’ new directorial sci-fi horror thriller film has landed – which means so has its accompanying Flying Lotus-produced soundtrack. The expansive 27-song ASH Original Soundtrack – which the music multi-hyphenate wrote almost entirely in a cave – brings another dimension to the unpredictable, alien planet-set story, leaning heavily into synth sounds.
NAV x Metro Boomin – “REAL ME”
The first single from NAV’s imminent OMW2REXDALE has transpired. Equipped with sleek production from Metro Boomin, “REAL ME” is a proper return to form from the rapper, whose most recent releases were “6AM Thoughts” with Bay Swag and Cash Cobain in August and “Rexdale” in July.
IDK x Joey Valence x Brae – “CLOVER”
Ever since IDK released his BRAVADO + INTiMO LP back in October, the rapper has gained immense momentum. Not only did he follow up pretty quickly with a deluxe album, but he’s also delivered a handful of singles as well; today, he added one more to the lineup. Entitled “CLOVER,” the raw new track comes bolstered by contributions from viral duo Joey Valence and Brae.
PlaqueBoyMax – 5$TAR SESSIONS: LONDON
On the heels of his standout freestyle on Will Smith’s In The Booth, the Twitch streamer and rising rapper PlaqueBoyMax has revealed his debut EP. The five-track project is dubbed 5$TAR SESSIONS: LONDON and features major UK rappers Skepta and Lancey Foux on “less is more” and “bizarre,” respectively.
Nettspend x xaviersobased – “Impact”
Fresh off the Miu Miu runway, Nettspend is back in his music bag. The rapper’s new single “Impact” dropped on his eighteenth birthday and is bolstered with xaviersobased contributions. “Impact” is Nettspend’s first release since BAD ASS F*CKING KID.
