Apple Adds Formula 1 Racing Support to Its Sports App
Including live leaderboards, lap times and real-time race updates.

Apple is deepening its connection to Formula 1 with the latest update to its Apple Sports app. Version 2.6 of the free iPhone app now includes live leaderboards, lap times and real-time race updates, allowing fans to stay on top of the action throughout the season.
This move underscores Apple’s growing interest in F1 ahead of its highly anticipated F1 film starring Brad Pitt, set to debut in theaters on June 27 before streaming on Apple TV+.
Launched in February 2024, the Apple Sports app provides scores, stats and standings for various leagues, including the NFL, NBA and Premier League. With F1 now part of the lineup, motorsport enthusiasts in the U.S., U.K., and Canada — where the app is currently available — can track races in real time.
While Apple has yet to acquire direct F1 broadcasting rights, this update strengthens its foothold in the sport’s digital ecosystem.
