Alpine’s A390 fastback is in the final stages of development, undergoing rigorous cold-weather testing in Sweden’s Arctic Circle ahead of its official debut planned for May 27, 2025. As the first all-electric sport fastback from the brand, the A390 is set to redefine performance in the segment while maintaining Alpine’s legacy of agility and driving pleasure.

Designed as a five-seater sports car, the A390 aims to bridge the gap between daily usability and high-performance driving. Engineers are putting the vehicle through extreme conditions, with temperatures reaching -40°F, to ensure durability, reliability and optimal performance on snow and ice. Key systems like Alpine Active Torque Vectoring, a three-motor drive system and a newly introduced “Track Mode” are being fine-tuned.

Philippe Krief, Alpine’s CEO, emphasized the brand’s ambition: “Our engineers have applied all their expertise to give this five-seater sport fastback the agility and thrill of our iconic A110. The result is thrilling, offering an experience where drivers can enjoy the sensation of frozen-lake driving while looking out of the side windows.”

Beyond performance, the A390 showcases Alpine’s distinct design language, borrowing elements from the A390_β show car and Alpenglow concept. A unique lighting signature, aerodynamic enhancements like a bonnet blade and micro-perforated grille contribute to both form and function. The cabin, though mostly under wraps, will feature a sporty Nappa leather steering wheel with direct-access controls inspired by Alpine’s Formula 1 cars.

Manufactured in Dieppe, France, the A390 also highlights Alpine’s collaboration with Devialet for an advanced audio system and Michelin for bespoke tires. The full unveiling of this innovative EV will coincide with Alpine’s 70th-anniversary celebration.
