Vanessa Bryant Teases New Nike Kobe 6 Protro "Purple Checkerboard" Colorway

Vanessa Bryant surprised Nike and Kobe fans with a new colorway for the Kobe 6 Protros. Continuing to honor her late husband’s legacy, Vanessa took to Instagram to tease the upcoming “Purple Checkerboard” colorway.
The vibrant iteration takes on the beloved Kobe 6 silhouette in a striking bubblegum pink to purple gradient. The gradient hits the upper, fading from deep violet to a softer lavender hue to complement the snakeskin-like scales that are a nod to Kobe’s Mamba Mentality. The dynamic design continues onto a checkerboard pattern on the inner inner lining and heel, giving the shoe a playful feel. The Swoosh and Kobe logo are adorned in a light teal to contrast the purple and pink gradient. The rest of the shoe sits atop a pastel pink midsole and outsole to round out the design.
So far, the release date for the shoe has not yet been confirmed. It is uncertain if it will be tied to a Valentine’s Day or Black History Month release.
