Daniel Caesar and Rex Orange County Drop Two New Tracks
With contributions from Mustafa and Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day Rex Orange County and Daniel Caesar have teamed up for a two-pack of new music. Bolstered by contributions from Mustafa and Blood Orange‘s Devonté Hynes the genre-blurring duo has dropped off a pair of new tracks: “Rearrange My World / There’s a Field (That’s Only Yours).”
The first in the lineup, “Rearrange My World,” comes with additional writing credits from both Mustafa and Hynes, opening with a dreamy soundscape of keys. “Can we walk until I know who I am? I live above a bar I’ve never been. I think about more than I can spend,” Rex opens, making way for Caesar to hop in on the hook’s harmonies and the second verse.
As for “There’s a Field (That’s Only Yours),” Mustafa offers both his writing and production hand to the cut.
Rex Orange County and Daniel Caesar revealed the two-pack’s imminent release earlier in the week via Instagram; as one commenter put it: “the only reason im looking forward to valentines day fr.”
