Wale Previews the Nike GT Future
The ultramodern silhouette is set to debut as Nike Basketball’s fourth “Greater Than” model by the end of the year.
While the basketball side of 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend received mixed reviews, the sneaker side did not disappoint. Countless pop-ups, releases and reveals took place, with Nike Basketball bringing its A game to San Francisco this year. Not only did the Swoosh give sneakerheads a chance to grab sought-after pairs like the Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” early, as well as debut the ultra-limited “Black Label” collection, it also revealed a new in-line performance sneaker — the GT Future.
Arriving as the fourth model of Nike Basketball’s “Greater Than” series that premiered back in 2021, the GT Future was initially spotted on the feet of Wale, sporting a build that looks to be one part Zoom Hyperflight, another part Air Foamposite One. Its sculpted upper rises above the ankle while featuring ventilation at the medial. Swooshes are present at the lateral heel, medial forefoot and the tall tongue while its initial colorways involve an orange and black version, a “Copper Egg” with a metallic upper and an all-black iteration.
At the time of writing, Nike Basketball has not yet announced its release plans for the GT Future. Look out for it to arrive by the end of the year in an assortment of colorways via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at an expected starting price of $190 USD.
