JENNIE and Doechii Command the Spotlight in High-Energy “ExtraL”
‘Ruby’ is set to drop on March 7.
BLACKPINK’s JENNIE builds anticipation for her debut solo album Ruby with the release of “ExtraL,” a bass-heavy collaboration featuring Grammy-winning rapper Doechii. The track highlights both artists’ dynamic delivery over a slick, hip-hop-infused beat produced by Dem Jointz.
Alongside the official release of the song, JENNIE and Doechii drop visuals giving fans more than expected. Directed by Cole Bennett, the sleek music video features JENNIE and Doechii commanding the screen in matching ivory suits as they trade verses. The song’s infectious hook, “Do my ladies run this?” cements it as an anthem of empowerment.
Ruby arrives on March 7, featuring collaborations with Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, Dominic Fike, FKJ,and Kali Uchis. The album is slated to feature 15 tracks, including this one with Doechii as well as her October 2024 single “Mantra.” In a previous interview with Billboard the artist spoke about what her debut solo album is like and what fans can expect, “I intend to complete myself as Jennie Ruby-Jane, for that to be a whole person, in a way. You’ll definitely know what I mean once the album drops, but because I’m playing with a lot of different genres and elements — I’m rapping here, I’m singing here, I’m harmonizing here, I’m talking here…The overall sound was me making sure I like every single [song].” JENNIE will also celebrate with The Ruby Experience, a series of live performances in Los Angeles, New York and Seoul.
