The Ulysse Nardin x URWERK UR-FREAK marks the first collaboration between two of Switzerland’s most pioneering independent watchmakers. The UR-FREAK reimagines Ulysse Nardin’s iconic Freak watch by fusing it with URWERK’s avant-garde wandering hour satellite display. The result is a fully integrated in-house caliber that combines a three-hour rotating carousel with URWERK’s signature satellite system, creating a bold new interpretation of timekeeping mechanics.

The timepiece is based on the Ulysse Nardin Freak [ONE] case, measuring 44mm wide and is rendered in a typical URWERK deep anthracite gray sandblasted titanium. In line with the Freak’s legacy, it features no traditional crown, relying instead on a turning bezel and caseback for winding and setting. The titanium hues are accented by URWERK’s emblematic electric yellow Pantone 395 C, which highlights the satellite pointers and minute markers.

Technologically, the UR-FREAK draws on Ulysse Nardin’s legacy of innovation, incorporating the brand’s Grinder® winding system, Diamonsil and silicon components — materials and techniques first introduced by Ulysse Nardin to watchmaking in 2001. These advancements are paired with URWERK’s conceptual approach, which treats time displays as sculptural, futuristic mechanisms rather than traditional complications. Together, the watch embodies both brands’ shared ethos: challenging conventions while respecting the artistry of mechanical watchmaking.
