Summary
- Ludovic de Saint has collaborated with Zara to create a new collection
- The collection is inspired by the dynamism of New York City and reimagines glamorous, easy chic from the 80s to the 00s
- The collection will be available starting November 11 on the Zara webstore and selected physical stores
After bringing his signature design language to Jean Paul Gaultier as the last guest couture designer this January, Ludovic de Saint Sernin is bringing his sultry aesthetic to Zara.
The collection embodies New York City’s inherent dynamism with Sernin’s timeless nostalgia pieces. It reimagines the glamorous and easy chic across the ’80s to ’00s, when Sernin firstly developed his fashion instincts. This collaboration features his signature construction details, graphic motifs, and silhouettes with pieces including leather pants and a black sheer dress with leather top to Zara’s worldwide audience.
“What we’ve created together is my idea of the perfect wardrobe: pieces crafted with incredible quality that I want to wear, I want my friends to wear, that I want everyone to wear!” the designer said in a statement. “The most incredible aspect of working on this collection was knowing how universal it would be. Thanks to Zara, people across the world will have the chance to access the Ludovic de Saint Sernin universe.”
The campaign film is directed by Gordon vo Steiner and evokes Downtown Manhattan — the heart of New York City. The campaign stars Alex Consani and Amelia Gray, the iconic models that Sernin has worked with since the beginning of his career, and the designer himself.
