Putting his unpolished spin on the Japanese brand’s expertly manufactured garments.

- Fortgens applied his deconstructed visual language, using raw edges and exposed linings to rework Graphpaper’s minimalist designs into sophisticated, yet lived-in garments.
Tokyo’s Graphpaper has partnered with Amsterdam-based designer Camiel Fortgens to develop an eight-piece capsule of garments reworked with Fortgens’ deconstructed visual language.
Using pieces from Graphpaper’s BASIC line and other existing collections, Fortgens builds upon the Japanese brand’s minimalist designs with unpolished details like raw cut edges, irregular stitchwork, and exposed linings. Combined with Graphpaper’s meticulous tailoring and construction techniques, the unfinished details are juxtaposed with more refined details for a lived-in, yet sophisticated feel.
In outerwear, the 3L Pertex shell jacket boasts fully taped seams inside, contrasting with subtle broken seams on the outside. Additionally, a black coat reveals a white lining in raw edges along the collar, placket, and waistline. For trousers, Graphpaper’s Chef pants are reimagined with an asymmetric front button tab, and a pair of brown wool slacks boasts deep pleats.
Having studied industrial design at the Design Academy Eindhoven until 2014, Camiel Fortgens brings an unconventional approach to his fashion designs. While featuring the exposed details mentioned above, the designer’s work utilizes high-quality sartorial fabrics and enlists European workshops to produce the garments.
Produced in limited numbers, the Camiel Fortgens x Graphpaper capsule will be available at Graphpaper’s stores and webstore on November 15, 2025.
