Moving beyond its roots in professional aviation-inspired instruments, Bell & Ross has created a timepiece where mechanics take center stage, transforming the watch into an artistic manifesto.
The watch’s architecture is a striking reinterpretation of Bell & Ross’s iconic square case, crafted from steel and sapphire to achieve maximum transparency. Its construction integrates case and movement into a seamless whole, offering a complete view of the mechanics within. Inspired by the geometric abstraction of Piet Mondrian and the functional purity of Charlotte Perriand, the skeletonized design emphasizes strict orthogonal lines and a precise grid. The 26 rubies punctuate the composition with vivid red accents, while brushed bridges and polished edges highlight artisanal finishing. Hours and minutes are displayed simply, offset at 2 o’clock, allowing the mechanical spectacle to dominate the visual narrative.
At its core, the BR-X3 is powered by the BR-CAL.389 manufacture caliber, combining two prestigious complications in a slim 9 mm case. The flying tourbillon, positioned at 5:30, performs its hypnotic rotation to counteract gravitational effects, while the micro-rotor ensures automatic winding without sacrificing thinness.
