LEGARE debuts with the Chapter 1 AGP Inverted watch.

Reimagines a 1932 double-balance pocket watch mechanism by Albert-Gustave Piguet.

Features a 37.5mm titanium case; limited to 50 pieces at around $110,000 USD.

LEGARE has officially launched its debut creation: the Chapter 1 AGP Inverted, a watch that reimagines Albert‑Gustave Piguet’s 1932 double‑balance pocket watch. Founded by Wei Koh and Guillaume Tetu, the Neuchâtel‑based brand positions itself as a “horological archaeologist,” reviving forgotten ideas and imagining how they might have evolved into contemporary watchmaking.

The Chapter 1 AGP Inverted pays tribute to Piguet’s intellectual curiosity while establishing LEGARE’s mission to explore lost possibilities in mechanical timekeeping. Housed in a Grade 5 titanium case measuring a compact 37.5mm in diameter and 9.95mm thick, the watch features an open, inverted movement layout that brings its twin regulating organs directly to the dial side.

Two independent balance wheels beat at 21,600 vibrations per hour, connected by a mechanical differential that continuously averages their rates to transmit a single output to the flame-blued hands. To maintain sleek proportions, the caliber utilizes side-angled lever escapements typically reserved for tourbillon construction. Its open architectural design is framed by a sapphire minutes ring and displays intricate finishing throughout, including hand-grained surfaces, mirror-polished bevels and perlage.

Offered in two distinct executions, the LEGARE Chapter 1 AGP Inverted watch is limited to just 25 individually numbered pieces each. The “Elegant” edition showcases untreated German silver with Côtes de Genève paired with a hand-stitched gray Alcantara strap, while the “Darth” edition presents a dark monochromatic look crafted from frosted, black rhodium-plated brass paired with a blue Cordura fabric strap.

Powered by the manual-wind Caliber LC1-AGP01 with a 50-hour power reserve, each version is priced at $146,100 SGD (approx. $110,000 USD) and produced through a specialized network of Swiss manufacturing partners located within 100 kilometers of Neuchâtel.
