DTLR, the Maryland-based sneaker chain, has once again partnered with New Balance to release the 1000 “Yards.” This collaboration continues DTLR’s dedication to supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through community outreach.
The New Balance 1000 “Yards” draws its name from “Yardrunners,” a term for influential individuals who have emerged from HBCU campuses. This silhouette is a tribute to the students and alumni of all 107 HBCUs across the United States.
The shoe arrives in a varsity look with the combination of dark green, black, white, and metallic gold, combining school team spirit with a premium design. It features a mix of leather overlays and mesh panels, providing structured support and comfort. Upscale details include cream contrast stitching and gold “1000” embroidery.
