The new trailer for the reboot of The Running Man has dropped, revealing a fast-paced, visceral thriller that updates the classic dystopian story for a modern audience. The movie, which centers on a deadly, televised hunt, is set to arrive in theaters next month.

The trailer introduces audiences to a bleak near-future where The Running Man is the most-watched show on television—a ruthless survival competition. Here, contestants, called Runners, must survive for 30 days while being chased by professional assassins, with every moment broadcast to a nation addicted to violence. The film stars Glen Powell as Ben Richards, a working-class man driven by desperation to save his sick daughter. He accepts the offer from the show’s charismatic but cold-blooded producer, Dan Killian, played by Josh Brolin, to become a Runner. But Richards’ raw defiance and fierce instincts quickly transform him from a desperate contestant into an unexpected sensation—a ratings juggernaut and a threat to the network controlling the entire system. As his fame skyrockets, so does the danger, forcing Richards to outwit a nation that is obsessed with watching him fall.

The film, which is a remake of the original Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring 1987 film of the same name. The story, by Stephen King now receives a new cast which sees Powell star alongside Colman Domingo. Jayme Lawson, Lee Pace, Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian, Michael Cera and more.
