Bremont’s Terra Nova Jumping Hour Now Comes in Steel
A non-limited release following the sold-out bronze model.
Summary
- Bremont released a non-limited Terra Nova Jumping Hour in 904L steel
- It features a 38mm cushion case and is powered by the BC634 jumping-hour movement for an instantaneous hour display
- Available on a steel bracelet or nubuck strap
Bremont follows the success of its limited-edition cupro-aluminum bronze Terra Nova with a new, non‑limited iteration in 904L steel. This new, non-limited variant is positioned to further demonstrate the versatility of the Terra Nova collection. The launch brings a robust and elegant interpretation of the historic montre à guichet (“window watch”) to Bremont’s contemporary line of field watches.
The 38 mm cushion‑shaped case preserves the Terra Nova’s low‑profile silhouette and shortened lugs – design cues drawn from early 20th‑century military pocket watches – while presenting the Jumping Hour complication in a rugged, wearable form. The watch retains the exclusively developed Jumping Hour caliber BC634 with Sellita, which drives separate hour and minute apertures plus a central running seconds hand and achieves an instantaneous hour jump in under 1/10th of a second. Modern performance materials and finishing yield a 56‑hour power reserve and stable 28,800 vph operation, all housed beneath a decorated 904L steel caseback.
Aesthetically, the Terra Nova Jumping Hour in polished and brushed steel emphasizes minimalist legibility: linear apertures display hours and minutes with brown-printed numerals on rotating discs, while the compass-inspired black small-seconds hand evokes Bremont’s exploration heritage.
Bremont’s CEO, Davide Cerrato, stated: “We know this watch has the potential to become a future icon, standing alongside the Altitude MB. In this regard, we’re proud to introduce its second iteration, crafted in 904L steel and not limited. It’s as robust as any Bremont and makes a bold style statement”.
The Terra Nova Jumping Hour in Steel is available at $5,100 USD on the steel bracelet. It is also available with the chocolate box-stitch leather strap for $4,800 USD. Both options are available now as part of the standard collection via Bremont.
