For the first time in its 35-year history, Nike’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, has been renamed the Philip H. Knight Campus. The move, announced by President and CEO Elliott Hill in an all-staff memo, serves as a permanent tribute to the company’s co-founder and Chairman Emeritus, recognizing his vision that transformed the sportswear brand into a global symbol of sport.
Hill noted that the change is more than symbolic; it’s a reminder to every employee of the “founder’s mentality” — a spirit of being restless, bold, and driven by a belief in what’s possible. The nearly 400-acre campus, which Knight himself helped design with an architectural style inspired by collegiate grounds, is already a testament to his legacy. Its 40+ buildings honor legendary Nike athletes such as Michael Jordan, Serena Williams and LeBron James. Elliott Hill, President & CEO, NIKE, Inc.announced in an all-staff email of the new campus name, “This is more than a name change. It’s a tribute to the man whose vision created a global movement. And it’s a reminder — to every one of us who will walk these paths and run these fields — of what can happen when belief meets action.”
The renaming of the entire campus to the Philip H. Knight Campus (PHK) is effective immediately, with new signage set to roll out over the next year. The company plans to formally celebrate the dedication with a special event in Spring 2026, honoring Knight’s enduring contributions to sport and culture. The decision solidifies Knight’s influence, cementing his name at the very center of the brand he created.
