Resurfacing its cult-favorite golf line with a cinematic new look.
Summary
- 7-Eleven revives its cult-favorite golf line with a new collection titled Midnight Driving Club
- Shot by photographer Kohjiro Kinno, the range channels Japanese street culture and late-night energy
- Neutral tones, refined branding and performance fabrics mark a shift from the brand’s earlier roadside stop aesthetic
7-Eleven’s unexpected golf collection made a splash (no pun intended) two years ago, prompting some to wonder if a wave of irony-drenched merch was on the horizon. While that never quite materialized, the series has proven its staying power, returning each year with a little more credibility and momentum.
Last year, the convenience chain tapped online golf personalities Jordan Rogers and Colin Landforce. This time around, it’s enlisted renowned photographer Kohjiro Kinno to shoot a new line dubbed Midnight Driving Club. Created as an ode to Japanese street culture—a market where 7-Eleven has long enjoyed success—Midnight Driving Club takes a different turn from past drops. While earlier collections leaned heavily into a roadside Americana aesthetic, this one embraces neutral tones, sleeker branding and an overall distinctly nocturnal energy.
With creative support from pro golf team and community LAGC, it’s fitting that Kinno was brought in to capture the project—his ability to frame golf in an artistic, cinematic light aligns neatly with the creative direction here. The casting, too, reflects a shared appreciation for where golf and culture meet.
Standouts include the Topographic Jersey Polo and Technical Polo, both crafted from performance fabrics, a shift from previous 7-Eleven ranges. Elsewhere, Japanese lettering and a Midnight Driving Club logo appear on cardigans, work jackets and bucket hats, nodding to the tire-burning, gasoline-fueled spirit behind the name. The full collection is available now through 7-Eleven’s online store.
