LIV Golf has received interim court approval to access $14 million USD of a larger $49.6 million USD bankruptcy loan

The circuit aims to complete its court-supervised Chapter 11 restructuring and launch its next phase in early 2027

LIV Golf has officially secured interim court approval to access $14 million USD in debtor-in-possession financing following its Chapter 11 filing. The ruling from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey provides short-term liquidity to maintain league operations while pursuing a recapitalization plan backed by BC Partners Credit.

The initial $14 million USD drawdown represents a portion of a larger $49.6 million USD bankruptcy financing package designed to fund ongoing business activities. In addition to securing operational capital, the court order authorizes the professional men’s golf league to continue paying employee wages and benefits, maintain internal programs, and execute payments to vendors and business partners.

Chief Executive Scott O’Neil cited the ruling as significant momentum for the league’s proposed reorganization. Launched in 2022 with backing from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, LIV Golf entered Chapter 11 proceedings amidst multi-million dollar obligations owed to high-profile players, using the court-supervised process to negotiate player participation for its future structure.
