Where The Three Stripes excels in sportswear, Avirex has hit ascendency in flight jacketing; needless to say, the pair’s inaugural collaborative drop takes both contributors’ core DNA and signature silhouettes to unexplored new heights.
Fronted by Joey Bada$$ and MJ, the debut adidas Originals x Avirex collaborative release comes deeply rooted in brand history – and New York City’s streetwear heritage – but properly geared for the future.
The first-time duo reconceptualizes a staple piece from each end, with the adidas Superstar sneaker and Avirex’s iconic leather jacket at the core of the collaboration. Reenvisioned through Avirex’s 90’s streetwear lens, the Superstar comes revitalized in a very New York City form, taking on an all-leather upper, accented with careful detailing.
The jacket sees a super limited release, dipped in a sleek all-white colorway, defined by its co-branded patches throughout. Rounding it all out comes a co-branded tee.
Complementing the striking, star-studded lookbook comes a campaign visual directed by true multihyphenate, Mez, whose honed creative vision hammers in the “built on heritage, built for the future” message.
