Joining the SFTM-009 in the same Song for the Mute x adidas “007” collection is the SFTM-008 Tokyo, a masterfully textured reinterpretation of a track runner originally debuted for the 1964 Olympics.
The silhouette is defined by an elongated, low-profile aesthetic that blends nostalgia with modern experimentation, appearing in three distinct colorways: “Bluebird,” “Off-White” and “Black.” Each variant embraces a textural masterplay of materials, utilizing a vintage-inspired edge and distressed detailing to create a tactile richness that honors the original archival design while pushing it into a contemporary fashion space.
The material execution varies across the pack to highlight different seasonal textures; the “Bluebird” and “Off-White” versions are constructed from a textured nylon, whereas the “Black” colorway utilizes a wide-knit mesh for a more casual, summer-ready feel. Corduroy and suede panels are strategically applied to the toe caps and lace overlays, providing a sophisticated structural contrast to the primary upper fabrics.
Branding remains characteristically understated with co-branded logos on the tongue and insoles, while the iconic Three Stripes are rendered in contrasting suede across the quarters. The SFTM-008 Tokyo will launch globally on May 15, 2026, following the collection’s exclusive debut on May 8 through Song for the Mute.
