PUMA and LaMelo Ball are hopping out the new year’s gates with a wild take on the Charlotte Hornets point guard’s signature shoe, the PUMA MB.01.
Dressed in a new “Alien Safari” colorway, which features hits of “Green Glimmer,” “Pure Magenta” and “Hyperlink Blue,” the shoe is decorated with an electric, all-over animal print that makes for quite the on-foot statement. The silhouette is just as performance-ready as it is head-turning: the design features CMEVA, a foam technology that offers superior responsiveness and cushioning in a lightweight build, and a woven mesh upper provides a breathable feel and support.
Zooming in, the design houses Ball’s “one of one” motto on the pull tab and a “RARE” callout on the bottom of the shoe. The laces, meanwhile, wrap through the athlete’s winged logo on the tongue, and “MELO” lettering resides on the heel.
The PUMA x LaMelo Ball MB.01 “Alien Safari” will launch online and at select PUMA Hoops retailers on January 10 at 7 a.m. PT. The sneaker will be available in both adult ($140 USD) and elementary ($120 USD) sizes. Take a look at the design in the gallery above.
