LISA Makes Her Louis Vuitton Campaign Debut

LISA is establishing herself as a fashion icon beyond the K-pop world. Making her first-ever Louis Vuitton campaign debut, LISA stars in the luxury house’s spring campaign shot by Steven Meisel in front of works by French contemporary artist Laurent Grasso.
Channeling the retro-futuristic stylings of Grasso’s paintings, Meisel brings in the grandeur scale of these works to the campaign, as they set the backdrop for Spring 2025 collection. The landscapes from Grasso’s paintings were featured on three looks that were show on the runway back in October at the Cour Carrée. The LV campaign spotlights three works from Grasso’s “Studies Into the Past” series which highlights composition and historical techniques.
Grasso spoke to WWD about being inspired by Louis Vuitton’s womenswear artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, “, I was really struck by the way he chooses special and highly significant locations to stage his runway shows. That’s something I’ve focused on a lot with my work, because I believe that places have a power and a vibration, which I’ve tried to capture, as I’ve made about 20 films, each one focusing on very specific locations and situations.” Grasso was also impressed with the way Ghesquière blended pop culture with LISA and co-campaign star Saoirse Ronan, “I find the mix of the brand, their work and my paintings — in the background, obviously — an absolutely incredible cocktail.
