Sean Wotherspoon Shares Closer Look at "Nashy Blue" Porsche 911 Dakar
The first 911 in his PTS color, created in collaboration with Ferdinand Ahorner, a member of the Porsche founding family.
Sean Wotherspoon has unveiled his latest Porsche project, a unique Porsche 911 Dakar created in close collaboration with Ferdinand “Ferry” Ahorner, a member of the Porsche founding family. Notably, the car is finished in Nashy Blue, one of Wotherspoon’s two official PTS colors, announced in late May.
The color stems from a previous collaboration with Porsche, in which Wotherspoon created four unique colorways, named after himself, his wife and his children. Now, two of these colors: “Sean Peach” (22I) and “Nashy Blue” (5NY) are available as official PTS colors for client use. While we’ve yet to see a Sean Peach roll out of the factory, the Nashy Bue couldn’t have found a better first model than the 911 Dakar to make it’s official debut.
Sharing more on the project in a conversation with Hypebeast, Wotherspoon said “The process was really fun, we worked with the Porsche Exclusive Manufacturer in Weissach. It’s extra cool because Ferry has special opportunities to change things on the car that typically Porsche won’t let you touch — like special color brake pads and more. We had so much fun going through each detail together. To me, this is a huge moment because it’s the first Nashy Blue Porsche to hit the roads. It’s like the trifecta, it’s Dakar, it’s owned by Ferdinand and it’s Nashy Blue.”
Echoing this excitement, Ahorner shared with Hypebeast that the collaboration came to life as a result of meeting Wotherspoon at the FAT Ice Race in late January. Having been a big sneaker head and collector of Wotherspoon’s since he was in his late teens, Ahorner shared that it now feels like a surreal full circle moment.
“At the event, they had Sean’s Taycan on display with all four of his signature colors, and I was speccing my dad’s Dakar at the time. I put two and two together and reached out to Sean, and to my surprise, he was more than happy to help me with the spec! Sean’s one of the most genuine, kind, and open people I’ve ever met. What’s even better is that we’ve continued collaborating on other projects, and he’s become a mentor to me — something I could have never imagined happening,” he shared.
Noting some special details on the Dakar, he explained that they’ve added unique touches like chrome window surrounds and that nearly every detail possible is painted in Nashy Blue. The interior further complements the spec with a Crayon finish and Sally Pepita — a unique color from the one-of-one Sally Special.
As the Nashy Blue Porsche 911 Dakar prepares to hit the road, both Wotherspoon and his son Nash are expected to visit Austria soon to celebrate the occasion.
