Update: NIGO and Nike have officially announced their long-awaited debut partnership, which is kicking off with the duo’s collaborative Air Force 3 Low silhouette – “Blue Void” – as well as a line of apparel.

“Nike truly has many masterpieces. The AF3 is a hidden masterpiece that I remember loving at the time. Through my first collaboration with Nike, I want to reintroduce everyone to its magnificence,” NIGO noted in a statement.

“When I decided to work with Nike, I went to the Nike World Headquarters and drew a lot of inspiration from the archives, the lab and the team working there,” he continued. “Everything I saw had a great influence on the project. There are still many things yet to come, so please look forward to the Nike and NIGO project. It’s the beginning of a long and exciting journey.”

The Air Force 3 Low “Blue Void” makes reference to some of NIGO’s favorite films and television shows across its design, and, per a press release, future releases from the duo will continue to point to NIGO’s rolodex of cultural inspiration. The “Blue Void” features an upper crafted from a mixture of embossed leathers, with a rubber outsole, midsole foam and graphic hits on the tongue and heel.

As for the apparel aspect of the release, NIGO x Nike are serving up both a varsity jacket and hoodie, each of which, like the sneakers, are designed through the lens of NIGO’s cultural influences.

In addition to a SNKRS release on October 4, the capsule will drop on September 28 exclusively at Otsumo Plaza in Tokyo and the “I Know Nigo 2” pop-up in New York. Take a closer look at the joints in the gallery above and revisit the original story below.

Original Story: It’s been over a year since it was rumored that NIGO had signed with Nike after working previously with adidas via his label Human Made. The Japanese designer appeared in a pair of Air Force 3 Lows several months later, prompting many to wonder if a project involving the silhouette was on the way. Back in June his appearance at his Spring/Summer 2025 show for KENZO saw him in a colorful pair of collaborative Air Force 3 Lows that confirmed the upcoming campaign.

Now, hot off of the reveal of a NIGO x Nike promotional graphic, we have our first look at his “Blue Void” colorway of the AF3 Low. Presented in special packaging that the duo has already teased, the wildly-colored design sees patent leather spread across the shoe’s upper as blue, red, yellow and pink all collide across the sneaker. One of the shoe’s special touches is a silver “NIGO FORCE” detail at the heel that sees a Swoosh placed between the two words.

At the time of writing, neither NIGO nor Nike have shared when their debut project involving the Air Force 3 Low will be dropping. However, based on Nike’s new promotional graphic for the project, which is embedded below, it’s likely to arrive soon. A tentative release period of this fall via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $160 USD is expected. Stay tuned for updates as we expect much more to come from the two in the near future.
