LEGO Reveals Plans for First-Ever 'Super Mario: Mario Kart' Sets
Featuring nine unique sets, to be released in January of 2025.
In an exciting reveal at Gamescom 2024, LEGO introduced its first-ever Super Mario: Mario Kart sets, marking a groundbreaking collaboration between the iconic toy brand and Nintendo’s beloved racing franchise.
The six new Mario Kart sets offer a fresh twist to the LEGO Super Mario universe, allowing fans to bring the action of Mario Kart into their homes. These sets, which feature beloved characters like Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Toad and Baby Mario, are designed to blend the excitement of digital and physical play.
Launching on January 1, 2025, these sets promise a dynamic building experience with customizable karts, interactive elements and vibrant characters. Each set offers unique features, from Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi in a balloon battle to Toad’s Garage, where players can customize their karts. The sets are designed for fans aged 7 and up, with piece counts ranging from 133 to 823.
Simon Kent, Design Director at LEGO, expressed his excitement about the launch, stating, “We are beyond excited to turbo-charge our LEGO Super Mario universe with these latest Mario Kart sets. We can’t wait for builders to bring Mario Kart races to life at home.”
In addition to the Mario Kart sets, LEGO also announced three new Animal Crossing sets, further expanding its portfolio of video game-inspired products. Prices for the Super Mario: Mario Kart sets range from $10 USD to $80 USD and will be available to order via LEGO’s official site starting January 2025.
