After Franky Villani and Eyedress connected over a love of skateboarding (and Villani’s love of Eyedress’ shoegaze sound), the duo has taken their friendship to the footwear space. Officially sealing the deal on the skater and musician’s similarities comes a clean, collaborative take on Villani’s New Balance Numeric 417, with Eyedress envisioning bits and pieces of his artistry and ethos throughout the sleek silhouette.

Engulfed in all-white, the joints hide the devil in the details; while distressed overlays draw some attention to the upper, the musician’s moniker is stamped subtly throughout the silhouette. The tab on the tongue reads “Eyedress” underneath the NB Numeric logo, while also surfacing on the shoe’s translucent undersole and on one of the insoles (Franky’s signature is imbued on the other.) Eyedress also offers up some sketches to enliven the sneaker, with a snowman spotted on the back of each sneaker’s heel, and mini caricatures of him and Franky stamped underneath their respective insole signage.

Take a closer look at the 417 x Eyedress by New Balance Numeric in the gallery above, and cop a pair for $99.99 USD beginning this Friday, August 30 at Eyedress’ official website.
