Update: Spotted earlier this month, Damian Lillard is set to introduce his adidas Dame 9 with a new BAPE collaboration, serving as a sequel to his Dame 4 colorways that released in 2018. Now, adidas has unveiled both its “Better Scarlet” and “Core Black” colorways of the kicks, as well as a complementary apparel range. Looking again at the sneakers, both pairs see BAPE’s iconic camouflage present across the upper of the new silhouette. Unfortunately, the previously-discussed USA-inspired colorway is confirmed to be an F&F-exclusive and will not be releasing. On the clothing side, a reversible mesh jersey and matching shorts kick things off while co-branded socks and a graphic tee from BABY MILO featuring Lillard rounds out the range. Release is set to take place on August 31 via adidas, BAPE and select retailers. Pricing starts at $20 USD for the socks and goes up to $160 USD for each pair of kicks.

Original Story: BAPE and adidas have fostered a close relationship over the years, resulting in a wide variety of projects from camo-covered UltraBOOSTs to multi-brand collaborations involving NEIGHBORHOOD. Now, the duo’s latest effort takes on Damian Lillard’s next signature shoe, the adidas Dame 9.

Back in 2018, BAPE assembled three colorways of the adidas Dame 4 — featuring famous BAPE motifs such as its shark and camouflage. Now, with the Dame 9 debuting soon, BAPE has prepared three colorways of the silhouette. Pictured above is the “Olympic” rendition that is expected to be an F&F-exclusive, though “Red/Gold” (pictures embedded below) and “Green/Gold” looks are expected to drop publicly this month. Based on the two pairs we do have imagery for, the new model has been adorned with golden co-branding that involves the Ape Head at the lateral heel and “BAPE STA” branding at the heel. Camouflage detailing also arrives at the layered upper and on a pair of laces with special aglet branding.

At the time of writing, neither BAPE nor adidas have announced the release details regarding their latest collaboration involving Damian Lillard. That being said, Hypebeast JP reported a release date of August 31, with the “Red/Gold” and “Green/Gold” pairs being made available to the public while the “Olympic” colorway will remain an F&F-exclusive. Stay tuned for updates, including a first look at the “Green/Gold” iteration, as we await more info.
