After Two Star & The Dream Police solidified Mk.gee‘s often mispronounced name as a household one, the elusive musician has unveiled his first single since dropping the aforementioned critically acclaimed alum. Entitled “Lonely Fight,” Mk.gee’s follow-up to the 12-track LP is a track that very well could’ve been tacked on to the end of his debut studio project if he wanted it to be.

Fitting right in with the sonic dreamscape Mk.gee established on Two Star, “Lonely Fight” is another transportive track. It is also one that the musician teased while on his recent tour, which consisted of a handful of intimate shows across North America.

“She’s dancin’ ’round like nobody’s watching / She’s praying on that somebody would / Under the lonely night / Under the lonely sky,” he croons over distorted synths and strings on the first verse.

The four-minute cut arrives ahead of Mk.gee’s larger, imminent world tour, which kicks off in Vancouver on September 2 and runs all the way through December 8, closing out in Melbourne.

Stream “Lonely Fight” on Spotify and Apple Music now.
