Adam Sandler to Release First Comedy Special Since 2018 ‘Love You’
Directed by longtime collaborator Josh Safdie.
Adam Sandler is linking up with Uncut Gems co-director Josh Safdie for a new project. Rather than a movie, however, Safdie will be in the director’s chair for Sandler’s upcoming Netflix comedy special.
Entitled Love You, the stand-up act marks the actor’s first TV comedy special since 2018’s 100% Fresh. A trailer for Love You previews Sandler once again jamming on the guitar during his act.
“Yeah, alright, so anyways, I talk a lot, and then I sing, and then we do a bunch of shit,” he says in one clip, wearing a hoodie over a Hawaiian shirt, before dedicating his next guitar song to a member in the crowd.
Sandler and Safdie produced the special alongside Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, Dan Bulla, Carter Hambley, Brian Robinson, Joseph Vecsey, Judit Maull, Eli Thomas, and Perry Sachs. Barry Bernardi, Robert Digby and John Irwin executive produced.
Adam Sandler’s Love You premieres on Netflix on August 27.
