CNCPTS has developed a close relationship with New Balance, having worked with the fellow Boston-based brand extensively for over a decade on footwear projects. The two most recently teamed up to re-release their 998 “C-Note” project from 2013 back in October of last year.
Now, the duo has again looked to their past for inspiration, revisiting the CNCPTS x New Balance 999 “SEAL” from 2012 — a sneaker that notably drew upon the materials used for US military footwear. Reinterpreting the shoe, the two have outfitted the 1906U, a utility-oriented model within the 1906 series that debuted earlier this year. This time around, it carries an “Hours and Days” theme that touches on the perspectives of older and younger generations — honing in on running as common ground between one another. As for the sneaker itself, this take on the 1906U features mesh, suede and nubuck detailing that sports off-white, teal, green and various brown notes, while also providing reflectivity at some of its overlays.
Release for this “Hours and Days”-themed New Balance 1906U by CNCPTS is set to take place on August 2 at 11am EDT exclusively via the CNCPTS website.
