Bulova Reveals a Lunar Pilot Timepiece With a Blood Moon Dial
Comes with a matching steel bracelet as well as an additional NATO strap.
Continuing to build on its Archive Series, Bulova has welcomed the Blood Moon Lunar Pilot wristwatch into its roster of time-telling offerings.
As its name suggests, the timepiece takes on a scarlet dial that nods the reddish tinge as seen on an actual Blood Moon. A closer look reveals a subtle textured pattern on the dial that’s reminiscent of the lunar surface. The vivid watch face appears even more striking from afar as it’s decorated with silver-tone tachymeter and subcounters, all housed in a stainless steel case with matching bracelet.
Its 43.5mm case width remains faithful to Bulova’s original Lunar Pilot, a timepiece that was worn by the commander of the Apollo 15 mission back in 1971. Powering this modern reinterpretation is NP20 High Precision Quartz (HPQ) chronograph movement, boasting an accuracy of 1/20th second.
In addition to the stainless steel bracelet, an additional black leather NATO strap is included. Both straps are built with an easy-release system, allowing swift interchangeability.
Retailing for $895 USD, the Blood Moon Lunar Pilot is currently available to purchase via Bulova’s webstore.
