Anthony Bourdain's 'Les Halles Cookbook' Is Receiving a Special 20th Anniversary Edition
The late chef, host and author’s true crime gem ‘Typhoid Mary’ will also be returning to print.

Two of Anthony Bourdain‘s books are receiving special re-releases this Fall.
First up is the 20th anniversary edition of the late chef, host and author’s seminal Les Halles Cookbook: Strategies, Recipes, and Techniques of Classic Bistro Cooking, which will arrive with a new foreword from fellow chef, author and Prune founder Gabrielle Hamilton. The cookbook is filled with simple guides in preparing classic French bistro dishes, ranging from Bourdain’s roasted veal short ribs and steak frites to escargots aux noix and foie gras au pruneaux.
Fans will also be treated to the return of Bourdain’s true crime gem Typhoid Mary: An Urban Historical, which follows the story of family cook Mary Mallon as she spread a disease across New York City kitchens for years. “Taking us through the seedy back doors of New York’s kitchens circa 1900, Typhoid Mary uncovers the horrifying conditions that allowed for the deadly spread of typhoid over a decade,” a release describes the book, which is a fusion of history, true crime and a closer look at the life of a chef.
Anthony Bourdain’s Les Halles Cookbook: Strategies, Recipes, and Techniques of Classic Bistro Cooking and Typhoid Mary: An Urban Historical are both set to release on October 15, with pre-orders available via Bloomsbury.
