BLACKPINK's LISA Debuts Thrilling New Single "Rockstar"
Arriving with a visual shot on location in Bangkok, Thailand.
LISA officially released her latest solo single, “Rockstar.”
Produced by San Homaee and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, the adrenaline-fuelled cut is reminiscent of early 2000’s J hip-hop with a fusion of modern-day R&B/hip-hop during the bridge. The BLACKPINK staple show off her vocal chops as she seamlessly switches between singing and rapping, allowing her to carry and channel the song’s braggadocious lyricism. Meanwhile its accompanying music video, directed by Henry Schofield and choreographed by Sean Bankhead, is a stunning visual shot on location in Bangkok that pays homage to LISA’s Thai roots.
“Rockstar” marks LISA’s first solo single under the new partnership of her LLOUD Co. management company and RCA Records. While a full solo album is yet to be announced, the track is an exciting venture outside of the iconic K-pop girl group as she continues to explore her artistry.
