Most people block someone on social media when they want to curb all interactions with them and throughout social media platforms, the function of a block is pretty much identical.

Amid the ever-evolving changes Elon Musk is making to X are a few tweaks to the platform’s block button, increasing the visibility of replies.

From now on, if you’re blocked by another user but they reply to your post, you’ll be able to view their reply. The situation essentially only applies to users who have been blocked by another person but haven’t blocked them back.

“If a user who has blocked you replies to one of your posts, you will now be able to see their reply,” Musk wrote. “This change enables you to identify and report any potential bad content that you previously could not view, safeguarding both your account and the overall integrity of our platform.”

Musk billed the update as part of the platform’s move to allow users to “control their experience” while still “maintaining the public visibility of posts.”

Last week, X revealed that it was working on developing a smart TV app, where users can cross-stream original content between their TV and their phone.
