Schikora and Boerma Spotlight Transient Beauty in Collaborative Exhibition

Villazan Gallery in Madrid is presenting a joint exhibition of works by artists Dennis Schikora and Eline Boerma. Titled STROKES AND TEXTURE: NAVIGATING THROUGH THE ABSTRACT, the show unveils a collection of previously unseen abstract paintings exploring the expression of ideas, emotions, and concepts through shapes, colors, lines and textures.
Eline Boerma, hailing from the Netherlands, delves into themes such as time, memory, and sensory experiences in nature, translating them into abstract compositions akin to musical pieces. Dennis Schikora, born in Germany, draws inspiration from literature and fashion, infusing his expressive, abstract works with themes of impermanence and longing.
Boerma’s paintings, influenced by her recent sailing journey to Corsica, capture fleeting sensory experiences with vibrant lines and colors. Schikora’s pieces, often initiated by literary quotes or introspective questions, embrace imperfection as a facet of beauty, echoing his fascination with avant-garde fashion.
