When it comes to chronicling time, G-SHOCK is a machine. Whether it be updating its mainline models or special collaborations, the rugged watchmaker always has something up its sleeve. To date, one of its original watches, the GWS5600U-1, has been a Japanese exclusive. But now the brand is bringing the timepieces to the United States and has tossed the watch in carbon fiber and titanium.

One of the leading special facts about the watch is that it was developed with Mizuno Technics. Specifically, the company helped craft the resin band that has been updated with a sleek carbon fiber touch. The entire watch features a dark, almost gunmetal-like shade, which gives it a bolder personality. But alongside carbon fiber, the inclusion of titanium also adds to that new personality, which graces the back cover, latch and side buttons – also offering a touch of color contrast.

Aside from the watch’s updated look, the 42.8 mm model features a quartz movement, resin bezel, 200m water resistance, solar charging capabilities with natural and artificial light alongside an automatic time setup. Take a closer look at the new US market watch in the gallery above.

Priced at $250 USD, new GWS5600U-1 is available now exclusively at Hodinkee.
