MSCHF Heads to the Pitch With New V2.wav Collection
Marking the return of its wave motif.
MSCHF is back again to stir up some fun with its new V2.wav collection. For it, the brand is heading to the pitch with a range of soccer-inspired apparel and accessories alongside new footwear.
One thing that stands out about the collection is the reintroduction of the brand’s wave motif. If you recall, the motif first appeared with the brand’s infamous Wavy Baby shoes which resulted in a lawsuit from Vans. Although Vans won the case, it bolstered MSCHF’s identity as a cultural provocateur – increasing its popularity. With the updated motif, MSCHF brings its identity to a completely new soccer shoe that reinvents the wavy sole. The shoe’s upper appears in hues of soft off-white, beige and navy and is complimented by a camel-colored gum sole.
“‘SOCCER” IS AN ENGLISH-AS-IN-ENGLAND WORD, AMERICANS CAN’T BE BLAMED FOR THIS ONE. FORTUNATELY FOR FOOTBALL, WAVINESS IS INTERNATIONAL,” said the brand.
But the wavy motif does not stop there. It also extends to a collaborative Umbro x MSCHF soccer ball. In continuing the soccer love, the collaboration includes a limited number of soccer jerseys, matching shorts and matching socks. Reading “MSCHF” and “MSCHF WAV,” the jerseys come in colorways of blue/white/black and light blue/fuschia/white.
