Bear D'egidio Is Bringing a New Vibe to Costa Mesa and Newport Beach
The Cali skate culture OG is helping opening a new creative studio and launching a luxury brand in the nexus of the action sports industry.

Newport Beach and Costa Mesa are to the action sports industry what Silicon Valley is to Big Tech: a home base for the latest and greatest. Both Vans and Hurley are headquartered in Costa Mesa, but the area is far from just a business hub thanks to a thriving surf and skate culture, plus several boutiques and coffee shops.
Now, entrepreneur and action sports OG Bear D’gido — who counts everyone from Ryan Sheckler and Paul Rodriguez to Chito Vera and Elly De La Cruz as a confidant and is known as a partner in of jewelry brand JAXXON — is looking to bring a new vibe to the area. Towards the tail end of 2024, he’s set to launch of a creative and design studio accompanied by a full-fledged luxury brand. “What separates us from other brands and creatives [is that] I always focus on the team first, culture and identity, and then I focus on solving the ‘why’ and ‘how’ the community can better themselves from the pieces and brand we create,” D’egidio says.
The overarching goal of the studio? Enabling creation by providing production and manufacturing support to aspiring brands and innovators. “When you build and create a brand, you’re building a culture, an identity that should embody the community building with you,” he says.
There’s currently no word on what, exactly, D’egidio and his counterparts are cooking up, but stay tuned for more info later in the year.
