Balenciaga's Platform Sneaker Is for Big Steppers Only

Balenciaga‘s latest footwear offering is for big steppers – literally.
Sitting on a six-inch platform – technically, 6.2 inches – the label’s new “Platform Sneaker” elevates its wearers to impressive new heights.
A part of Balenciaga’s Spring 2025 range, which is set to showcase in China tomorrow, the sneaker leans into the label’s tried-and-true distressed and chunky footwear aesthetic – a theme that’s remained consistent across many of Balenciaga’s statement sneakers such as Summer 2024’s Cargo Sneaker and Fall 2024’s 10XL.
Crafted with mesh underlays, the sneakers are breathable, despite the overwhelmingly layered look. Dipped in hues of red, silver, white and black – and accented with intentional rips, tears and signs of wear – the silhouette takes a rounded shape, finished off with the towering, layered six-inch platform at the bottom.

Balenciaga’s Spring 2025 delivery comes equipped with a bevy of statement footwear, including the Giant Boot, which rests atop a staggering seven-inch platform.
