BMW's M3 Sedan and M3 Touring Models Get a Facelift
Alongside a subtle increase in performance across the series.
BMW has introduced the latest iterations of its high-performance M3 Sedan and M3 Touring models, bringing enhancements in power, design and technology.
Both the BMW M3 Sedan and M3 Touring now feature a subtle power increase of 15 kW (20 hp) for all-wheel-drive variants. The new models are equipped with a six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering up to 530 hp in the Competition versions. This power is channeled through an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission to all four wheels, providing rapid acceleration and dynamic handling.
The new editions boast redesigned headlights and steering wheels, along with new forged light alloy wheels and interior trim elements. The adoption of BMW Operating System 8.5 supports the latest generation of BMW iDrive, enhancing digital integration and user experience. At the exterior, the updated vehicles feature BMW’s signature large kidney grille, powerfully sculpted wheel arches and high-gloss black side skirts, highlighting the models’ sporty aesthetics.
For the new M3 Sedan, three different engine options are available: the top-tier Competition variant with 530 hp, a 510 hp version and a 480 hp variant with a six-speed manual gearbox. The M3 Touring is exclusively available with the 530 hp engine and M xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system, combining performance with practicality and expanded cargo capacity.
Additional updates include new M3 badging found at the rear of the cars, an updated steering wheel with a flat-bottomed rim and a red 12 o’clock stripe. New V-spoke wheels have also been introduced as a part of the update, as 18/19” for the RWD M3 models and 19/20” for the Competition counterparts.
All variants will be produced at BMW Group Plant Munich, with a global market launch starting in July 2024. As for availability, the M3 Sedan is expected to reach markets like the U.S. China, Great Britain, Australia and Germany — while the M3 Touring will remain primarily available in European markets, with pricing yet to be announced at the time of writing.
