PUMA Hoops and Breanna Stewart Present the Stewie 3
Debuting in its debut “Dawn” colorway next month.
Since joining the WNBA in 2016, Breanna Stewart has been a force to be reckoned with. Just two years after winning rookie of the year, Stewart went on to win her first MVP award, and just received the illustrious title for the second time last season after joining the New York Liberty. However, her prowess extends beyond the court as she has worked closely with PUMA Hoops to launch her own signature shoe line. Running with the momentum of last year’s PUMA Stewie 2, the duo took a trip to Paris ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics to unveil the Stewie 3.
Appearing in its launch “Dawn” colorway, the design draws inspiration from three countries: Japan, Brazil and Spain. Tokyo-inspired cherry blossom detailing is symbolic of life’s fleeting beauty and the resilience of nature while Rio de Janeiro’s golden trumpet trees similarly enliven the upper, connecting to the gold medals that are sported by champions — a treasure that Stewart notably earned in the aforementioned countries in both 2016 and 2021 by playing for the US Women’s Basketball team. Adding to the nature-based presentation, the red carnation blooms appear as a tribute to Stewart’s spouse, Marta. As for its technical specifications, a high-abrasion outsole offers ample grip while a dual-density Profoam+ midsole delivers targeted cushioning.
