Keanu Reeves Reportedly Cast as Shadow in 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3'
The film hits theaters this December.
Keanu Reeves is rumored to be joining the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the actor will use his voice to bring the character Shadow to life. Created by Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik, Shadow mimics many of Sonic’s features and can also match his speed and skill. The character made his first appearance in 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2, and has appeared in many projects under the franchise since then.
The upcoming video game movie will see James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub and Idris Elba reprise their roles from the previous films. Jeff Fowler will also return to the director’s chair.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20.
