Crenshaw Skate Club Debuts "Art For the People's Sake" Collection
The line pays homage to skating as an art form.
After linking up with Los Angeles landmark Randy’s Donuts for a collaboration last month, Crenshaw Skate Club has returned to drop off a new collection that pays tribute to skating as an art form. Titled “Art For the People’s Sake,” the line is filled with knit sweaters, crewnecks and T-shirts that celebrate the skate park’s creatives.
“Skateboarding gives us a canvas on which we can paint our personalities and creative visions through our movements,” the brand wrote in a statement. “It transformed the urban landscapes around us into stages for personal expression and innovation.”
Lauding skating’s transformative effects, the collection includes logo-laden sweaters with expressive illustrations decorating the collection’s namesake, alongside T-shirts with skating and musical collages commanding their entire backs. Other tops, meanwhile, see the Crenshaw Skating Club moniker pieced together in different fonts on the chest.
“Through this lens, we hope to elevate the appreciation of skateboarding as a vibrant form of self-expression and artistry that allows individuals to connect with themselves, their community, and the spaces they inhabit,” the brand explained.
