Chanel has unveiled its official offerings at the 2024 Watches & Wonders. The French luxury house continues to expand in the realm of accessories. This year’s releases see Chanel gear up the year with the J12 Caliber 12.1, J12 Diamond Tourbillon Caliber 5, Monsieur. Superleggera Intense Black Edition and several pink editions as well. Building off of last year’s J12 Caliber 12.1, the brand’s Watchmaking Creation Studio continues to blend the 18k yellow gold with diamonds on the new watch. Arriving in the classic black and white ceramic, the bezel itself is set with 50 brilliant-cut diamonds while the dial has 12 brilliant-cut diamonds. The sapphire crystal caseback shows off the oscillating weight in a perfect circle, signature for Chanel.

When the J12 Diamond Tourbillon watch was first presented in 2022, it was categorized as a technical and aesthetic tour de force for the house. Now, the Caliber 5 has revealed its first Flying Tourbillon movement, created by the in-house Watchmaking team. The exposed mechanism is seen on the front and back and has a regal finish that sees the watch feature a sophisticated lion’s head, also known as the Chanel Haute Horlogerie Manufacture’s signature. The tourbillon cage set with one diamond and 29 rubies and is water-resistant for 50 meters. The new 2024 interpretation sees the J12 Diamond Tourbillon in matte black ceramic and white ceramic.

Limited to 100 pieces, the Monsieur watch has masculine undertones to its design. Crossing technical complexity with aesthetic sophistication, the watch’s matte black edition is a nod to its inspiration from racing cars. The watch takes on a highly resistant ceramic and steel case and bezel with black coating and has a steel and sapphire crystal caseback with “LIMITED TO 100” mention. Black nylon strap with black calfkin leather trim and lining and steel triple-folding buckle with black coating informs the watch as it readies for 30 meters of water resistance. It has a manual-winding mechanical movement with two integrated complications that allow for instant jumping hour and 240° retrograde minute.

Since 1987, Chanel’s Première watch has been a staple in its accessories offerings. The watch is in the titular octagonal shape, reminiscent of the stopper of the N°5 perfume bottle. Recognizable with its black lacquer dial and borrowing the leather interlaced chain from the classic quilted handbag for its bracelet, the watch is quintessentially Chanel. Reinterpreting the codes of the Première Édition Originale watch, this year brings two new limited editions in the form of the Première Cuff and the Première Sautoir-Belt. With the limited edition Première Cuff watch, the wrist piece takes on the form of a steel chain bracelet coated with 18k yellow gold, interlaced with black leather strap and steel triple-folding buckle coated with 18K yellow gold. As for Première Sautoir-Belt, it features a similar make but the structure of the accessory is resembling that of a pocket watch.

As a nod to Gabrielle Chanel’s life, pink accents combined with the brand’s signature beige gold hits four watch designs, including new editions of the J12 and BOYFRIEND watches. The J12 X-Ray Pink Edition Watch is limited and numbered to 12 pieces. Constructed with pink sapphire crystal and 18k beie gold case, it has a fixed bezel set with 46 baguette-cut pink sapphires, around 5.61 carats. The sapphire crystal dial is set with 12 baguette-cut pink sapphires. The J12 Pink Edition Watch is limited to 55 pieces and is made with white highly resistant ceramic and 18k beige gold case with a fixed bezel set with 46 baguette-cut pink sapphires, coming out to about 4.04 carats. The white dial is set with 12 baguett-cut pink sapphires. The Boyfriend Skeleton X-Ray Pink Edition Watch is also limited to 55 pieces and has a pink sapphire crystal case and bezel. The crown is in 18k beige gold and is set with 5 baguette-cut pink sapphires. The strap is made with pink quilted pattern calfskin leather with gold lining and a 18k beige gold triple-folding buckle. Lastly, the Boyfriend Skeleton Pink Edition Watch is also limited to 55 pieces and has a 18k beige gold case with a bezel set with 38 baguette-cut pink sapphires that total to about 1.96 carats. The pink quilted pattern calfskin strap with gold lining and the same buckle is set with 23 baguette-cut pink sapphires.
