UNDERCOVER and nonnative Reveal Third OZISM Collaboration
Using washi paper for select garment fabrications.

For the past couple of years, Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER and Takayuki Fujii’s nonnative have been working together on their OZISM collaboration. The collaboration was first revealed in November 2022 with a tribute to the late Japanese film director Yasujirō Ozu. Almost a year later in October, the brand revealed the second iteration of the collaboration that continued to honor the film director alongside Japanese aesthetics. The brands have teamed up again to reveal the third installment of their OZISM collaboration.
Years into the relationship, the collaboration is still inspired by Yasujiro and the “Portraits of Modern Japanese theme.” With it, the two brands are highlighting not just Japanese history, but also contemporary culture. With the new offering, the two brands focused on the Spring/Summer 2024 season. As such, the offering digs into versatile, yet attractively functional pieces that retain the ethos of contemporary Japanese style notes.
But the highlight of the collection is its use of washi paper into the garment fabrications. Across the wardrobe are coats, jackets, sakumu-inspired cardigans, screen-printed tees and relaxed pants. Completing the looks are select footwear offerings like GUDI hiking boots and sandals. Take a look at the collection in the gallery above.
The third UNDERCOVER x nonnative OZISM collaboration is set to release on March 16 at select UNDERCOVER stores, online at UNDERCOVER and online at nonnative.
