All-New Mercedes-AMG G 63 Surfaces with Electrified Drivetrain

The introduction of the all-new Mercedes-AMG G 63 brings a fresh dimension to the celebrated line. With its electrified handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine, cutting-edge AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension and distinct design enhancements, this model stands out as a pinnacle of engineering and aesthetics.
Under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 boasts a powerful 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, complemented by an additional 20 hp and 148 lb-ft from its 48-volt integrated starter generator (ISG) at lower engine speeds. This setup increases performance and reduces fuel consumption, showcasing Mercedes-AMG’s commitment to efficiency without sacrificing power. The new G-Class is capable of acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and can reach top speeds of 137 mph.
The optional AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active hydraulic roll stabilization and adaptive adjustable damping underscores the vehicle’s agility and comfort. This system, available with the AMG Offroad Package PRO, enhances the G 63’s handling by reducing roll movements and improving wheel articulation, ensuring maximum traction and climbing ability across various terrains.
Interior and exterior design elements of the G 63 are unmistakably AMG, from the MANUFAKTUR Hyper Blue Magno paint exclusive to this model to the new AMG-specific front bumper and stainless-steel inserts. The vehicle also introduces the AMG crest on the hood and exterior mirror projections, alongside 20-inch AMG alloy wheels and an optional carbon fiber package for an even more pronounced performance aesthetic.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs offer a range of driving experiences, from efficient and comfortable to extremely sporty, allowing drivers to tailor their rides to any situation. As Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, articulates, the new G 63 aims to deliver an enhanced performance experience both on and off-road, fulfilling the high expectations of Mercedes-AMG customers. In addition to the new G 63, Mercedes-Benz has revealed a revamped G 550, also featuring a hybrid powertrain that utilizes a 48-volt battery.
